It made her so sad to think that a person could be so careless as to nearly smash an adorable puppy. She thought they were so ignorant. It's a good thing Marilyn had possession of the cute, red-colored pup now. Otherwise that man who almost had red on his tires would have just tossed her into a box and scrawled "Free Puppy" on it, not caring if it rained or snowed.
She picked up the transportation kennel and got out of the nice warm car. It was howling wind inside. Hopefully the kennels would be nice and cozy warm. The puppy was trembling, partly of fright, and partly of chilliness. She shoved open the door, almost blinded by the wind, and escaped into the heated barn. Finding Dessy's kennel, she swiftly walked to it, careful not to jostle the puppy around too much.
Marilyn opened the wire door of the transportation kennel and let the frightened puppy out. She pranced around in the bare kennel, whining and yapping. "Well, you sure like to talk," the person said giggling. Before she could get any food or bedding, she had to take her new rabbit to her new home. Then they would both get supplies. She hooked up a small heater, but made sure nothing flammable was around. Turning it on in front of Dessy's kennel, she headed out into the howling winds.

Oh! it was so cold outside. She stumbled into the barn filled with empty kennels. Rubbing her raw but gloved hands together, she made her way to the puppy's kennel. The only thing was a reddish colored fluff ball in the corner of the cage. Smiling, she took the bag from her shoulder to store some things away.
First to come out was a bag of dry food. Because she still needed to purchase dishes and leashes and such, she poured a little on a paper towel. Marilyn put the bag on a shelf on the other side of the isle that the kennel was on. She placed a bottle of treats there, too. "See you tomorrow," she said softly to the sleeping puppy, then took her bag and headed for Beth.

Good, it wasn't as windy as yesterday. She hadn't gotten around to her animals, but now she would. She pulled up and hopped out. Jogging into the barn, she turned automatically to Dessy's kennel. Her puppy was looking at her intently, obviously a bit energetic. "Well, we'll just have to go on a walk, now," she muttered happily.
Marilyn got busy unloading the other supplies like a few toys, a beautiful red collar and matching leash, and she put some more food and some water into the red feed/water dish. Everything else went on the shelf where the feed was. She let her puppy eat, then fastened her collar and leash on. "Ready?" she asked the hyper dog, then they went outside for a walk.

A single tear dripped off the bridge of Marilyn's nose. It was a bit confusing, for she had never encountered a drugged dog, let alone any drugged animal! Why would they even dream about doing that to a harmless, already frightened animal? The two entered the barn and went to the kennel. Gently, as not to frighten the pretty pup too much, unclipped the leash and hung it on a hook in front of the cage. It was horrible. Dessy lapped up some water and crunched on her food. "Oh, I almost forgot," she said and pulled the red dog bed out. She placed it in a corner sort of by the heater for her distressed puppy. "Bye, girl, be better tomorrow," she whispered crouching down. Watching Dessy sniff and examine the bed, she stood and headed out to take care of Bethany.

After putting her bunny securely into her car, she came to collect her puppy. Today they would see how well her animals dealed with the vet. Pushing the door open, she entered the barn and headed for Dessy's kennenl. "Hi there," she said softly, now knowing the dog's real tempermant.
She bent down as the reddish colored pup came up to her. "We're going to go to the vet, hun," she said reassuringly. She took the leash off the hook from the cage and stepped ino the kennel. Keeping her hand by the puppy's nose, she clipped the red leash on the matching colar. It seemed Dessy had recovered from the sudden drug wear-off yesterday. Good. So, Marilyn led her puppy outside and into the car. The dog was standing on the front seat, and Beth was in the back seat as she pulled out of the driveway to the vet.
