She groaned as she stepped into the howling wind. She had her rabbit in her coat for warmth. It was a good thing that the Himalayan's hutch was indoors. "Almost there, Beth," Marilyn cooed. She went into the narrown hall that had the hutches. Flicking on the light, she found Beth's.
"Here we are, nice and warm," she said as she let her bunny scamper into the hutch. Carefully she secured the latch to the door that had a small window out, then also made sure Beth would not get into the enclosed runway. She smiled in on the bunny from the window that looked outside, then headed into town for supplies.

Trembling with cold, Marilyn stepped out of the darkness and into the narrow hallway with the rabbit hutches. She had almost turned into the hallway with the hamster "palaces" before realizing Bethany was here. She took her bag down from her shoulder again and unloaded the last things.
First she put just a little grain on the floor in the hutch. It was a good thing the hutch had a removable top! She stroked her malnourished bunny affectionately before putting the grain pack on a shelf above the hutch. She put a can of treats there too, along with the small tarp-covered hay. "Bye Bethy!" she called and quickly jumped into her SUV. Marliyn turned the engine on and cautiously pulled out of the driveway and to her home on Lakecountry Blvd.

After taking care of her neglected puppy, Marilyn turned into the hallway that led to her rabbit's hutch. In a plastic bag was a feed dish, water dish, a collar, and a little bed. She opened up the top of the hutch and stroked her bunny. "Hey there, I brought you some things!" she said. Beth was a big change from Dessy. Beth was just bony and dehydrated. Dessy would require a longer time to be healthy, body and mind.
Marilyn took out the bowls and placed them, full, into the red wooden hutch. While drinking, she carefully fastened her pretty collar around the chocolate hued neck. The bunny paused, wondering what this strange object was, then resumed sipping the water. "Good girl," Marilyn praised when the collar was attached. Bethany seemed to have finished for now, so carefully the lady picked her rabbit up and she burrowed cozily into the scarf Marilyn was wearing. They would go and check out the runway.
Out doors, Marilyn closed the door and opened the gate to the runway attached from the hutch. She set her rabbit down, and sat on her rump. Beth gladly hopped to and fro, happy to stretch her thin, bony legs. "We'll have to get some more fat on you!" Marilyn cried, now seeing hoe malnourished she really was. The chocolate colored bunny turned around and started to nibble the grass. Finding it to her taste, she hopped to Marilyn and started to "graze" around her feet. Deciding so, quickly the lady went in, got the feed and water dish, and brought it back to the runway. "You'll get to stay out here, tonight," she said and set the dishes down. Next was the small bed. A few more minutes and it was time to go. So Marilyn pulled the overhang out and latched it to the white gate. For extra safety, as the young woman was leaving, she hooked the hot wire fence up and did the security beam. All animal dwellings had this. Blowing a kiss to the pretty bunny, Marilyn hopped in her SUV and headed out.

Marilyn pulled up, the only sound being the squeaking of snow on her car tires. She parked, got out, and headed for the runways. She saw the one that was Beth's. It had the overhang pulled out. The only evidence that it had snowed was that there was a blanket on the overhang. With her hand Marilyn swiped it off, then contracted the "shelf" to its pocket in the wall. Beth's eyes went wide, but when she saw Marilyn it was all right. "Hey, girly girl!" she cried, and gently scooped up the chocoalte colored rabbit.
They were now inside the narrow, but bright hallway. A little clumsily Marilyn took the top off the hutch and set her fluffly but skinny bunny down. On tip-toes she grabbed the carrying cage and put it on the cleanly swept floor. "Here we go, Beth," she said as she picked up the light bunny and placed her into the compartment. "Good girl," she said. Marilyn picked it up, careful not to sway the cage, and proceeded to the SUV. She placed the rabbit securely in the backseat, then locked the door and headed off to collect Dessy.
